In beautiful weather conditions, competitors took to the forests around Lithgow on May 3, for the Car Auctions Sydney Rally of Lithgow, part of the NSW State Rally Championship.
The rally consisted of recce on Saturday morning and then four stages, each run twice. Two stages (run twice) were run in daylight and two at night, giving crews a nice mix of day and night rallying and a total competitive distance of around 150 kms.
Michael South comfortably took out the rally in his Subaru WRX, five minutes clear of Steve Forsberg (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6), with Victorian Brendan Reeves, who made the eleven and a half hour trip to Lithgow, coming home in third place in his Subaru RS Impreza.
