To be run from August 25-28, QUIT Targa West, has a restricted entry limit to ensure the event maintains the experience it has become renowned for.
“Every year we welcome new crews to the event and we enjoy being able to provide both new and old competitors alike the opportunity to experience this fantastic event,” said QUIT Targa West Event Director Bob Schrader. “However, it is still our priority to maintain the close-nit experience QUIT Targa West is so often praised for,” he continued.
QUIT Targa West is one of the major tarmac rallies in Australia, attracting some of the biggest names in rallying and consistently providing a field of some of the best cars in the country.
Organisers are busy adding the finishing touches to the event, which will be certain to provide competitors with some challenges to keep the adrenalin pumping.
One of the most attractive features of QUIT Targa West is that it provides an opportunity for anyone, not just professional motorsport drivers, with the chance to compete in a premier event.
“QUIT Targa West is more than just a rally; it is a chance for teams to escape from the real world and indulge their passion in this beautiful part of Australia,” said Schrader.
“The rally is a great way to combine passion with the social and competitive side of rallying, and battle it out on some of the best roads WA can offer,” he continued.
Kicking off with the Prologue through Whiteman Park, the event will expand its presence in the City of Swan with bigger and better stages to be run around Bullsbrook, and will return once again to the fantastic roads through the Shires of Kalamunda and Toodyay.
After its overwhelming success in 2010, the Killarnée City of Perth Super Stage, to be held on the Swan River foreshore in Perth on Sunday afternoon, will provide the ultimate Finale for the event.
2011 will see a new innovation with the inclusion of Classic Race Car Sprints run by the VSCC of WA over the Super Stage course on Sunday from 10.30am to 1.30pm, providing spectators with a feast of motorsport across the day.
