Croatia is the latest country pushing hard for a round of the World Rally Championship, with funding secured.
"After seven years of negotiation, we will finally try to officially open the doors of the WRC to Croatia and Zagreb," Croatia's motorsport boss, Davorin Stetner, has said.
"The government, the city of Zagreb and its institutions also support us in this, and this shows how important this is."
WRC Promoter chief, Oliver Ciesla, visited Croatia earlier this year for meetings to discuss a proposed event.
