Subaru rally driver, Cody Crocker, is aiming to finish his season with a third consecutive victory in the Rally of China this weekend.

Having secured a hat-trick of Asia-Pacific Rally Championship crowns at the Rally of Malaysia last month, Crocker and co-driver, Ben Atkinson, head into the final round of the 2009 APRC as hot favourites.

The winner in China in 2006 and 2007, the MotorImage Rally Team driver is looking forward to ending his season on a high note.

“It was fantastic to clinch the championship in Malaysia last month, as it means we can go into the Rally of China with no pressure on us,” Crocker said.

“The MotorImage Rally Team have done a brilliant job all year, and to take a third APRC title in a row is really something special.

“But this weekend the focus is on China and taking another victory to end the season,” he added. “I enjoy the stages, and with two wins already under my belt there, I’m confident of doing well.”

Crocker’s main opposition is expected to come from Japanese driver Hiroshi Yanagisawa, while fellow Australian, Dean Herridge, will also be in the mix in what could be a leaderboard dominated by Subarus.

Held in Longyou, one of the counties of Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, the Rally of China is made up of 16 stages with a total competitive distance of 223 kilometres, including one Super Special Stage to get the event underway on Friday evening.
