After eight stages of Leg One of Rally Hokkaido, Cody Crocker and Ben Atkinson hold a 31.4 second lead over Katsu Taguchi.
Crocker, the current Asia Pacific Rally Championship leader, finished a successful day's rallying in his Motor Image Subaru Impreza ahead of Taguchi's Mitsubishi.
The Rally Hokkaido continues on Sunday.
