Troy Dowel will make his much-anticipated return to rallying this weekend after a long battle with leukaemia. The young Melbourne driver looked set for stardom and was competing in the Rallycross Academy in Europe when he was struck down with acute leukaemia. His return to the sport will be in the Rally of the Bay, and will be his third rally. He'll have the vastly experienced Bernie Webb calling the pace notes for him. Troy has been training hard to build his strength, with the aim of getting through the whole rally and building his speed as the rally unfolds. His first two rallies in the Australian Rally Championship showed that he has much potential, with consistent top 10 stage times. Along with the rest of the Activ Rallysport team, he'll test his Hyundai i20 near Canberra today.
