Twenty one year-old Khaled Nasser from the Egyptian city of Alexandria will contest 12 rounds of the FIA World Rally Championship in 2008.

Khaled's supporters have been looking for ways for him to gain more experience driving on a wider range of road surfaces and in a wider variety of conditions to further his career. After considerable research they have decided that the best option is to enter Khaled on all of the European rounds of the 2008 World Rally Championship, as well as Rally Jordan.

Khaled's team manager, Mohammed Nosir, said that they had looked at a number of options including the European Championship as well as national championships in Europe and Asia, but none of these was going to give Khaled the wide variety of experience that he desperately needs at this crucial stage of his career.

The twelve round program the team is now preparing for will enable Khaled to gain experience on tarmac, ice and snow, and tree-lined forest gravel roads as he competes on events across Europe. Rally Jordan will also be a round of the World Rally Championship for the very first time in 2008, and with Khaled's desert driving experience it is expected that he could cause a surprise here.

Khaled has been driving in the desert since he was just six years-old, and while he may not have a lot of true rally driving experience yet, he has surprised many observers while attending rally driving schools in Europe with his speed and car control.

The team is preparing a group of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX's for Khaled to use for competing and testing, and Khaled will spend six days testing the first two cars at the start of August. The team feels that having an experienced co-driver for Khaled is essential as he seeks to gain further experience, and so an international co-driver has been sought and he will test with the team then.

Khaled's supporters plan to hold a media launch for this exciting program in late August, and this will take place in Khaled's home city of Alexandria.
