Entries are now open for Lightforce Rally SA, round four of the 2016 Kumho Tyre Australian Rally Championship® and round three of the 2016 MRF Tyres South Australian Rally Championship.

This year’s Lightforce Rally SA will be run on 9, 10, 11 September 2016, and will feature new categories with something for every competitor: Kumho Tyres Australian Rally Championship, MRF Tyres South Australian Rally Championship, Classic Rally Challenge, RallySafe Introductory Rally and the brand new RallySafe Tag Along event.

The 2016 course is even more compact than the popular, competitor-friendly 2015 layout, and competition will run over Saturday 10 September and Sunday 11 September only, requiring competitors to take less time off to compete.

The Mount Crawford Forest night stages proved popular in 2015, and in 2016 national competitors will again run stages in full darkness. This includes the Mount Crawford stage plus two new night stages.

The RallySafe Introductory Rally provides newcomers to the sport and returning competitors a unique opportunity to compete on the same stages as the Kumho Tyre Australian Rally Championship® competitors. People with an interest in rallying can ‘come and try’ in a controlled environment away from public roads. The RallySafe Introductory Rally will run on Sunday 11 September in the afternoon, and cover approximately 50 competitive kilometres.

The RallySafe Tag Along event also provides a truly unique opportunity for competitors to get cars out of sheds and back into rallying. It is ideal for crews who want to try out the roads, do some testing in a full rally environment and save money, be part of the event but not actually have to compete. Crews have an opportunity to enter either Saturday 10 September, Sunday 11 September, or both. Stage distance is around 220 kilometres if both days are entered.

The very popular open reconnaissance arrangements continue, with a total of 15 hours available for the two weeks before the event. This is still unique to Lightforce Rally SA, dynamic and flexible.

All activities will be centred in Mt Pleasant, including drivers briefing and the podium celebrations on Sunday 11 September.

Entries close on August 25th, at 8.00pm.

Competitor enquiries can be directed to Rally Director Ivar Stanelis, phone 0418 834 311 or email ivar@rallysa.com.au.
