Rally Finland hasn’t been held since 2019 because of COVID-19, but this year’s rally is certain to play a key role in determining who wins this year’s title.

The championship-leading Toyota team have entered half of those World Rally Cars, with former driver Esapekka Lappi joining regular team drivers Ogier, Evans, Rovanpera and Katsuta.

Lappi won the rally for Toyota in 2017, but it remains his only WRC success.

Since then he has driven relatively unsuccessfully for Citroen and Ford, but returns to Toyota with the likelihood of a part-time drive in 2022.

Esapekka Lappi drove for Citroen at Rally Finland in 2019.

Hyundai will field Neuville, Tanak and Breen, while M-Sport young guns Greensmith and Fourmaux will uphold Ford hopes.

The Rally2 category is well subscribed with Mads Ostberg, Jari Huttunen, Nikolay Gryazin, Teemu Suninen, Martin Prokop and Oliver Solberg all present.

In Rally3, Australian Molly Taylor is the only competitor in her M-Sport Poland prepared Ford Fiesta.

Rally Finland runs from October 1 to 3.
