As the number of new Coronavirus infections in France and Italy again climb, doubts over the running of Rally Sardinia are emerging.
New COVID-19 cases in Italy dropped to below 140 in early July, but that number skyrocketed to over 1700 on September 4.
There is a mandatory 14-day self isolation in place to visitors to Italy from Turkey, where the next round of the World Rally Championship is to take place.
Turkey recorded 1703 new cases on September 7, while France record over 4200 cases as the virus shows no sign of disappearing.
Rally Sardinia is scheduled to run from October 8 to 11, and will likely run without spectators if it does take place.
Meanwhile, the Austrian Motorsport Federation has deemed that their national rally championship cannot be awarded this year after the cancellation of October's Autumn Rally.
