An ex-Didier Auriol Toyota Celica has found a new owner after residing mostly with Neal Bates Motorsport for almost 20 years.

The famous Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 was used as a recce car by Didier Auriol in 1997, before being purchased by Neal Bates.

Its purpose for Bates was as a left hand drive car - something which was not available to him at the time.

Despite the car only ever being a recce car, it was driven by Ove Andersson in Targa Tasmania in 2004.

"It was built specifically to be a recce car by TTE," Harry Bates told RallySport Magazine.

"Back then, they had a fleet of them that flew around the world."

Despite being over 25 years old, the car was sold in under three hours proving the continued popularity of the car.

The new owner is unknown. RallySport Magazine will run a feature on the beautiful ST205 Celica next week.
