The Group G Datsun 120Y famously driven by George Fury in the 1980s is looking for a new home. The car was specially built for Fury by Jamie Drummond, and was used in a couple of Alpine Rallies after the Talmalmo farmer had switched from rallying to circuit racing. In a post on the 'Rally Car Broker' Facebook page, it is advertised as 'arguably the fastest Group G car ever built'.
"It is basically a 240RS in a PB210 body shell with a much better 4-link rear end. This is what Nissan should have built as their Group B car!
"There are conditions on who this car goes to. If you have something to prove and want to drive it flat out don`t bother contacting ............. it needs to be preserved as part of the Australian rally history that it is. But what a great car to have in your garage to take out and have some fun in." A selling price hasn't been listed, but the car's FJ24 engine was recently rebuilt with no expense spared, and is apparently worth $60,000 alone. It's a car that has some great history, but will the price be too high?
