CAMS and the Australian Rally Championship have opened expressions of interest for tyre suppliers for the 2020 championship and beyond.

Within the expression of interest document, there is the option for tyre manufacturers to propose to be the sole control tyre, or join the championship as an 'official tyre supplier'. In the latter option, between four and six manufacturers would be present, with championship drivers only eligible for points if using one of those brands. Each supplier's product must be available to purchase for all, and ensure a fair and affordable option for competitors. Based on the submissions received, CAMS will determine the package which best suits the championship and its competitors for the time period specified. Like previous deals with tyre suppliers, the deals will run for a three year term and end in 2022. This will allow for teams like Subaru, Toyota and Activ Rallysport to choose their own tyre from among the registered list and also have the opportunity to gain backing from specific tyre brands. In the late 1990s, Toyota and Subaru used Michelin and Pirelli respectively, which saw rivalry for not just car brands, but tyre manufacturers also. Expressions of interest close on Friday, 26 July, 2019. The expression of interest document can be downloaded below. CAMS ARC Tyre EOI 2020-2022
