Brendan Reeves has enjoyed a successful first day of the Fiesta International Shootout in the UK.
After lunch and a briefing at M-Sport headquarters in Cumbria yesterday, Reeves and the 17 other contestants were put through a number of psychological and physical tests before fronting a panel of six media representatives, who fired questions at them.
The physical tests were some of the most difficult that he has ever had to do, however the 20 year old Victorian said he gave it everything he had. He was rapt, and a little shocked, to win the 'beep' test.
Contestants are scored on every part of the Shootout, from the psychological and physical tests, to their dealing with the media, and their performances behind the wheel. Driving tests will be held today (UK time) and will see the drivers doing three runs of a forestry course. Their best two times will count.
Whilst looking forward to the driving tests, Reeves is aware that it will be extremely difficult. He will be back in a left-hand drive car for the first time in a couple of months, and the winter roads are likely to be extremely icy.
