Feature: YJT 444 – as original as works cars get

The late rallying historian, Martin Holmes, often said to me that what made a rally car special was its registration number, not the body shell that it was affixed to.

So often in rallying history cars are re-shelled after crashes that it's often never known whether a car is 'original', or just a re-bodied version of its former self.

It was a point well made, and if you look through Holmes' 30+ world rallying annuals you'll notice that the results pages always list the registration of the cars.
