October's Port Macquarie based round of the AMSAG Rally Series has been forced to undergo extensive route changes.
Ongoing fire risk on the Mid-North Coast of NSW has forced forestry that to move forward their harvesting schedules, which has impacted significantly on the proposed course for the Port Macquarie Rally.
The change effectively wiped out the entire of the proposed Saturday stages.
"We have made the decision to reduce the event from two days, to a single day event only, which will still be held on the Saturday, 26th October," a series update said.
"The event will now be based solely in Johns River, with the rally headquarters and service park being based out of the Blacksmiths Inn.
"The event will run in daylight only, and more details regarding the distance and number of stages will be released closer to the event."
