The Robinson Racing Developments team of Paul and Mike Batten had a challenging first event in the FPV F6 310. Contesting the in RDA Brakes Showroom competition in the inaugural running of Targa High Country, the team had mechanical issues which forced them to miss stages on Saturday afternoon, but finished strongly with 3rd place in their first Showroom competition.

After running in a close second place behind Mazda's Brendan Reeves, the team had a flywheel issue which forced them to miss the afternoon stages and incur time penalties. "No-one would have blamed us for packing the car back on the truck after the problems on day one. It was a real credit to our teams fighting spirit that we were back competing on Sunday morning" said Batten.

"Ted (team owner Robinson) pulled a few strings to keep the show on the road" said team manager Adam Smith. "The replacement flywheel and bolts were flown up to the local airfield in the front seat of a Cessna on Saturday afternoon".

After a late night working one the car, the team posted a string of strong times bringing the car home for its maiden podium position. "We were really happy with our stage times first time out in the car, it is a fast package and great fun to drive," said Batten.

"First time running the car we expected a few teething problems, the biggest thing was that we all dug in and kept trying under pressure. It was a real team effort and really satisfying to bring the car home to the finish. The podium celebration was icing on the cake and a great thank-you to the team for all the hard work."
