The Group G Datsun 120Y that George Fury made famous in the mid-1980s has found a new home.
Kaitler Motorsport Engineering has purchased the car from the estate of the late Grant Cary, who died from a serious illness earlier this year.
Grant only owned the car for a short time, but it was his life’s dream that he achieved before he passed away.
“We are very pleased to announce the car will be displayed at this weekend’s Alpine Rally and thank the organisers for allowing us to do so,” new owner, Steve Kaitler, said.
“This was one of Grant’s wishes and we feel humbled to be able to carry this out.
“The purchase has been a long road and the car has been locked away waiting for all the legal requirements to be completed.”
The Datsun 120Y was built by Jamie Drummond and Fury contested four Alpine Rallies in the car, which many believed was the ultimate Group G rally car in Australia.
