Geoff Portman’s family thank the rallying community

We would like to thank the collective rally community for wrapping their arms around us during this difficult time. The calls and messages to share memories and stories of how Geoff/Dad made an impact on so many lives has most certainly eased a little of the heartache.

We would especially like to thank Joel Wald, Luke Sytema and Glenn Bakker for bringing their cars along to the service on Thursday, providing one last guard of honour as he left us. The additional effort and sign writing done were a beautiful tribute to him.

A special mention also to Ken Cusack for digging up and printing so many wonderful old photos that bring back so many fabulous memories.

We were honoured to have so many of the people he shared his life with there to celebrate, including so many that made a lot of effort to come from interstate, particularly in the current uncertain climate.

Keep the stories and memories coming – we will add as many as we can into his memory album and look back with a lot of pride, love and many laughs!

Thank you also to everyone who has donated to his memorial fundraiser –- we have raised over $4000 for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia to continue to do the fabulous work they do supporting NETs cancer patients and families, and raising awareness for this rare and often misdiagnosed cancer.

We hope everyone has taken a moment to toast to Geoff in some form or another this week.
