Geoff Portman was the last to be born, on September 4th, 1954, but sadly, he was the first to pass away when he lost his battle with cancer on April 20th, 2021.
As an Australian rallying great, we couldn’t let the occasion of Portman’s 70th birthday pass by without an appropriate celebration.
For this tribute we went to the author of the book that recounts Portman’s life story. Bruce Keys was a longtime associate and friend of “Portholes”, and produced the definitive story on the life of the 1981 and 1982 Australian Rally Champion.
RallySport Magazine’s Peter Whitten spoke to Keys about the life of Geoff Portman, and what his legacy to Australian rallying is.
