Top drivers Michael Harding and Chris Higgs battled it out for supremacy in the Narooma Forest Rally in NSW on August 3. After six hard-fought stages in dry and dusty conditions, it was Harding and co-driver James Thornburn who drove their Subaru WRX to a 30 second win. Higgs and WA co-driver Daymon Nicoli were second in a Lancer Evo 6, ahead of another Subaru, driven by Stuart Collison and Lance Arundel. James Price put in a brilliant drive to finish fourth in a Ford Escort. The rally included a Club competition known as Damesa Industries Stages, designed for novice crews. Oliver Jentsch, the owner of Damesa, put up cash prizes for novice drivers.
