KME Rallye Sport finished off a huge first year of rallying, with driver Brenton Kaitler taking home not 1, not 2, but 3 trophies at the weekends NGK Rally of Melbourne.

Driving a car that had already been sold, Kaitler used his experience competing in a very wet 2006 Victorian Rally Championship to take honours in F16 in the ARC component, 1st 2WD in the VRC, and 1st P2 in the VRC.

With the immense assistance of experienced co-driver Ben Searcy, Kaitler drove through the fast Rally of Melbourne stages, impressing the crowd with the noise of the Cyborg and myriad of handbrake turns on Mt Slide.  On both runs over Ben Cairn, Kaitler was able to beat the works Ford Focus and many other top teams, reaching 180kph on the fast tarmac surface.

The event caps off a huge 2006 for KME Rallye Sport, comprising 11 events in the past 12 months.  In his first year, Kaitler has won P2 in the Victorian Rally Championship and almost won F16 in the ARC and 2WD in the VRC.

Father, and experienced fabricator Steven Kaitler from Kaitler Motorsport Engineering, is now awaiting the team’s 2000 Mitsubishi Evolution 6 to arrive and begin constructing to his well-known high standards.

KME Rallye Sport will be aiming for consistent top 10 placings in the ARC and top 5 in the VRC for 2007.
