Excitement around the FIFA World Cup has reached fever pitch in Poland as the Hyundai Motorsport service area has played host to a special penalty shoot-out in celebration of Hyundai’s sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup.

In the build-up to this weekend’s Rally Poland, Hyundai Motorsport’s drivers Thierry Neuville, Juho Hänninen, Hayden Paddon and Dani Sordo have challenged their driving rivals to a friendly penalty contest with some of WRC’s veteran journalists in goal and WRC Live’s very own Colin Clark as referee.

Volkswagen Motorsport’s trio of drivers Sébastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen, Citroën Racing’s Mads Østberg and Kris Meeke and M-Sport’s Mikko Hirvonen have all taken up the challenge.

Using the Hyundai Motorsport service area as a make shift goal, the drivers all put their best foot forward with some interesting results!

Arguably, only Hyundai Motorsport’s Thierry Neuville (Belgium) and Volkswagen Motorsport’s Sebastian Ogier (France) have much to shout about in this year’s FIFA World Cup but at least the Polish penalty shoot-out gave other WRC countries an opportunity to showcase their skills!
