Perth businessman and targa enthusiast Kym Illman has succumbed to family pressure to dress up his Mitsubishi Evo 9 for Targa West (Aug 25- 28). In his first event back from a spectacular crash in Targa Tasmania (see below) Illman’s Evo will be sporting “stick-on eyelashes”.

“When my boys spotted them on the internet they felt they were a must for the Evo.”  explains Illman. “My co-driver (and neighbour), Antonia Spiers, agreed with them and before I knew it, they had purchased and attached them to the vehicle. The only worry is will they stay on at speeds of up to 200km/hr?”

Illman has competed in 6 Targa Wests, winning the Challenge section twice. For the past 2 years he’s been a regular at the major eastern states tarmac rallies and has built a solid following amongst youtube viewers wanting to see high quality, well edited stage videos often within hours of the stages being run.

“We will be introducing some radical and controversial new twists to our stage videos for Targa West.” claims Illman. These video additions, along with the unique stick on eyelashes will no doubt fuel further awareness of Illman’s racing exploits.
