No final decisions concerning the constitution of the 2017 World Rally Championship were taken at the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC)meeting today in Paris.

Turkey back in the WRC? Happy memories of the Bosphorus from 2010. The 2017 WRC is to consist of 12, 13 or maybe even 14 rounds in 2017!   The basic calendar includes 12 familiar names (without Poland and  China), but it has been stated that Turkey, China and Poland are on the calendar only as “candidate” events for 2017.

The definitive list will only be announced at the final WMSC meeting of the year in Vienna on November 30th.  There are no new venues are on the list.

Rallye de France has been brought forward to early April, the inclusions of Italy and Argentina are dependent on contractual agreements with the Promoter, and no dates for events in the second half the season have been announced.
