A story in today’s Queensland Times reports that a multi-million dollar motorsport facility will be built at Ipswich, south west of Brisbane.
According to the report:
“A Western Australian company was preparing to establish a regional motorsport precinct with a $650 million investment, a meeting of Ipswich City Council was told yesterday.
“Mayor Paul Pisasale briefly mentioned that he had held talks with proponents of the scheme who were targeting an area adjoining Ipswich boundaries.
“He declined to provide further details to media after the meeting,” the report said.
The Western Australian link could well mean the company that will run Australia’s round of the World Rally Championship in 2008, however further details are not yet available.
