It may have nothing to do with his 2020 WRC plans, but Andreas Mikkelsen has split with his management group after 10 years. The Norwegian's contract with EVEN Management ends on December 31 this year. Mikkelsen is also out of contract with Hyundai Motorsport at the end of the 2019 World Rally Championship, but whether the management split has anything to do with this remains to be seen. "EVEN have been crucial for my career in motorsport. They believed in me in 2009 and gave me the chance to fully go for what I wanted more than anything," Mikkelsen said in a statement. "I’ve been lucky to work closely with so many talented people who all is big part of who I am today. It’s been a fantastic journey through good times and more challenging times. "All through my motorsport career I have been surrounded with a 'system', and I feel it’s now time to manage my own career. A challenge I find both fascinating but also a bit scary, however, I believe I can do it!"

EVEN Management's MD, Erik Veiby, added: "We have had an amazing journey together with Andreas. We have been through ups and downs over the past 10 years, he was our first athlete and over the years we have developed a close relationship. "Now we have decided together that the time has come for Andreas to manage his own career, it will for sure be strange to follow him from the sideline, but I’m sure we will still be in contact. "We wish him all the best in the future, and I’m convinced we will see him on a podium in the near future!" In his time with EVEN, Mikkelsen has claimed the 2009 Norwegian Group N Championship in 2009, took the IRC victory in 2011 and 2012, and has had successful years in the WRC with Volkswagen, Citroën and Hyundai.
