Team BK, pairing Brenton Kaitler and Vivek Samy for the first time, are equal 8th outright and 1st in Premier League in the Australian Rally Championship following last weekend's Quit Forest Rally, held around Busselton in Western Australia.

Driving with a conservative approach, Kaitler finished 7th outright in Heat 1 and 10th in Heat 2. “We are very happy with our stage times. We came here to finish the event with a straight car and have done that. There were a few Team Manager's in attendance evaluating the performance of our team and it is looking very promising for our future. We’re in a strong position leading up
to the Asia-Pacific round (Rally of Canberra) in May”, commented Kaitler.

Added Samy, "I am very happy to be a part of Team BK. Brenton did a great job and did not put a wheel wrong in the entire event. A conservative approach was our goal and to come home with maximum points in Premier League is just fantastic. Also, I'm the first ever Indian to win a trophy in the Australian Rally Championship. It feels great being one out of one billion people!"

The team won the first round of the Premier League class – a category designed to limit costs by allowing teams only 12 tyres and normal 98-octane pump fuel for each rally. Yokohama’s medium-compound tyre proved the perfect choice for the rally, with the team using less tyres than expected.

Whilst the rally passed without incident, Team BK were unlucky to encounter a kangaroo in their reconnaissance car in the lead-up. “A 7-foot grey kangaroo jumped across the road and landed in the middle of the bonnet at 110 kph on the highway on Thursday morning. Justin Dowel and Matt Lee stopped to help with makeshift repairs and luckily we completed our pace-notes, albeit with a sad-looking Corolla!”, said Kaitler.

Attention now turns to the Rally of Canberra, held on the weekend of May 10 & 1. Kaitler and Samy will be looking to bring back another strong points haul from this event.
