Following last year''s FIA candidate rally, Takamoto Katsuta (Yaris WRC) has won Japan's test WRC rally, the all-asphalt Central Rally Aichi, held close to the area where next year's WRC is to run.  He finished nearly four minutes ahead of Citroen C3 R5 driver Hiroki Arai. Third was the Skoda Fabia R5 of Osamu Futunaga, with the two-wheel drive Toyota 86 of Heikki Kovalainen fourth of the seven finishers. The event was run in the prefectures of Aichi and Gifu, not far from where last year's candidate Shinshiro Rally was run, based at the Expo Park in Nagakute City, close to Toyota City.
