Hayden Paddon's return to the WRC at Rally Australia in November is a huge boost for the Coffs Harbour based event.
Paddon will drive a factory-backed M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC after driving an R5-spec Fiesta in October's Wales Rally GB.
“Hayden Paddon is enormously popular with Rally Australia crowds and we’ll all welcome him and John back to the Coffs Coast stages," Kennards Hire Rally Australia Clerk of the Course Wayne Kenny said.
"He’s a talented driver in all conditions. He won Rally Argentina in 2016 and came second here last year.
“Everyone will be barracking for him to be the first driver from Australia or New Zealand to win a ‘home’ WRC round at Rally Australia in November.
"There’s no doubt he’ll have the car and driving skill to do it,” Kenny said.
"Getting back in the World Rally Car at Rally Australia will be a real highlight and I can’t wait,” Paddon remarked.
The news is also expected to dramatically increase spectator numbers at the event, with a horde of Kiwis likely to cross the Tasman to watch their hero.
