The NZRC will see an R5 car in the field for the first time at Rally Coromandel.

While details are yet to be released, it is understood a real up-and-coming star will take the wheel of a Ford Fiesta R5 car, formerly run by Norwegian driver Eyvind Brynildsen.

Rally Coromandel will also see several new cars to the championship appear.

It is expected that two new AP4 cars will break cover for the event, as well as Australian Irishman, Richie Dalton’s Polish built Ford Fiesta.

They will all be taking on NZRC regulars, plus WRC star Hayden Paddon in the Hyundai NZ i20 AP4.
