Open letter from the organisers of Rally Tasmania 2009:
Dear Current & Prospective Competitor
Â
It comes as no shock that Australians are tightening their belts as the world economic crisis only seems to worsen.
Â
Rally Tasmania is hardly immune to this and at present we are experiencing lower than normal entry numbers. Ironically Rally Tasmania is not the only event in this predicament, and as a consequence we are faced with the prospect of an event that we feel would not meet the expectations of our customers if we don’t receive additional entries in the near future.
Â
To this end we are asking that if you are considering competing in the 2009 Rally Tasmania, February 13-15 that you complete an Application to Compete form (attached to this email or available from our website), and fax or email back to the Rally Office prior to 12noon, Tuesday 31st December.
Â
If we do not receive appropriate entry numbers by 12noon, Tuesday 31st December we will be forced to place the 2009 Rally Tasmania in Care & Maintenance for 2009, and begin to focus on a brighter event for 2010. MSR Corporate is committed to promoting first class events with solid competition and to reassure those that have entered to date, all entry fees will be fully refunded if this is the case, but we certainly hope that many will decide to come and enjoy the spectacular course we have planned including Hellyer Gorge, Savage River, and the new Sunday loop based around the famous Cethana stages south of Sheffield.
Â
Applications for the 29th Rally Tasmania can be downloaded from www.rallytasmania.com.au or by contacting the rally office on (03) 6432 3988.
Â
Kind Regards,
Â
