Former New Zealand national champion Joe McAndrew has taken the lead after two days of the Targa New Zealand tarmac rally after stage one leader Emma Gilmour had an unscheduled change of co-driver.
The 26-year-old Dunedin driver is relying on a series of guest co-drivers from her main sponsors for the week-long North Island event.

McAndrew leads Gilmour by just under 13 seconds with Australian Ray Vandersee third.
