Meeke departs WRC for new adventures

British rally driver, Kris Meeke, had called time on his WRC career after being dumped by Toyota Gazoo Racing. With the fight for the remaining M-Sport seats going on in earnest, Meeke announced via social media: "Ciao for now #WRC... Thanks tgr_wrc toyota_gazoo_racing Time to explore some other passions. Let’s see what’s 2020 brings.." Meeke leaves the WRC with five wins to his name from 104 starts. He was a polarising figure in the sport. While his speed was unquestioned, he was also prone to accidents, much like his mentor, the late Colin McRae.
