Our story on Peter Jerie’s massive accident over the infamous ‘Mineshaft’ at the Rally of Canberra indicated that young co-driver, Tristan Kent, was in his first event.
We’ve since been informed by Tristan’s father, Mark, that this is not the case.
“In fact he's been navigating since the age of 12 and it was his second Rally of Canberra, having navigated for Matt Durand in last year's event,” Mark Kent said.
“It's also not the first time Tristan has crashed at the Mineshaft, having hit the outside bank on the ‘road goes left’ at the bottom with me, in a club event, last year in our Subaru RX.”
Tristan has obviously got the rallying bug, so hopefully his Mineshaft experiences don’t put him off!
