As much as 85% of the 2021 Monte Carlo Rally route will be different to this year, the Automobile Club de Monaco has confirmed.
The rally will once again run out of Gap, but the shakedown is moving to a Thursday morning slot, which is more traditionally known for the WRC, and there will be a night stage to start proceedings.
Three new stages will run twice on the first full day of the rally, to the west of Gap, which will be the longest day of the event, with nearly 128 kilometres of stage distance.
Saturday is to the east of Gap with three stages in the mountains, before heading back to service at Gap before heading southwards to Monte Carlo.
Sunday will see the teams head to the mountains from Monte Carlo to contest two loops of La Maīris – Moulinet and Col St-Jean – Col de l’Orme.
