Weekly motorsport publication, Motorsport News, is reporting that Supercross motorcycle champion, Chad Reed, will drive a third Super 2000 Toyota Corolla in some events in next year’s Australian Rally Championship.

It reports that Reed will test one of the team’s cars soon, and according to Toyota’s motorsport manager, Todd Connelly, that Bates’ 2008 car will be made available “for these sorts of activities”.

“So first of all (Reed) will have a test at Queensland Raceway to let him get a feel for the car and see how fast he is. Obviously you don’t get to be a double World Champion on two wheels if you don’t have any race craft, so we’re confident he will be fast,” Connelly said.
