The French pairing of Michele Mouton and Fabrizia Pons have turned back the clock and driven an ex-works Audi Quattro at today’s Super Special Stage of the Otago Rally, in Dunedin, NZ.

Sitting together in a Quattro for the first time since the mid-1980s, Mouton and Pons thrilled the thousands of spectators who had gathered to watch the momentous occasion.

After completing several laps of the spectator stage, Mouton then took the wheel again, driving a lucky auction winner around the stage.

The ex-works Quattro, which Hannu Mikkola drove on the Rally of New Zealand in 1984, is now owned by New Zealander Malcolm Stewart.
