The Confederation of the Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) has appointed a new manager for the 2018 Australian Rally Championship. Justin Hunt, a long-time official, promoter and competitor for events such as Rally Australia, the Rally of Melbourne and the Australasian Safari, will take on the role ahead of this weekend's first round in Victoria.
"I’m pleased to announce that we have contracted Justin Hunt as our ARC Championship Manager for 2018," CAMS General Manager of Motor Sport, Michael Smith, said in a letter to competitors.
"I’m sure Justin will be known to many of you, and quite frankly, we are thrilled that he has agreed to take on this role.
"Having worked on both sides of the fence, Justin understands the pressures of competition and attending events.
"In essence, Justin will be a conduit between the events, the competitors and CAMS, assisting with elements such as the commercial obligations, branding and keeping in touch with all competitors," Smith said. Round one of the Australian Rally Championship is the Eureka Rally, to be run in Ballarat this weekend.
