Spectators will be more connected than ever during Scouts Rally SA thanks to the launch of a new, free mobile app available on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Scouts Rally SA launched the first iPad app in Australian rallying in 2014, and has now expanded this to a wider range of devices to ensure all spectators can get involved.

The new Scouts Rally SA 2015 app takes a different approach, as all spectator points are now covered by mobile reception.

Spectators with the mobile app can receive notifications of results and changes to schedule as they happen, and stay completely informed no matter where they are.

If spectators are online, they can access interactive Google Maps to navigate to their nearest spectator point from wherever they are, however if spectators are offline or out of mobile range, maps and directions are available within the app, leaving no one high and dry.

Results and GPS tracking of competition cars are also available within the app, so spectators can see in real time which cars are leading the way when they come through their spectator point.

"The Scouts Rally SA 2015 mobile app is a huge leap forward for us" enthused Ivar Stanelis, Clerk of Course, Scouts Rally SA. "Communicating with spectators in the field has always been a challenge, but this app makes it easy to keep everyone up to date. We can’t wait to see the reaction from spectators."

The app has been developed by Adelaide-based digital marketing consultant Ryan Jones. Ryan and his team have supported Scouts Rally SA over a number of years, and in 2015 again has provided all design and marketing services to the event. This has included the development of an all new, responsive mobile site to accompany the mobile app.

"Our team has been working to find new and innovative ways to make rallying accessible to spectators and families, and we’re really excited by the potential of the Scouts Rally SA 2015 mobile app," said Ryan Jones. "We already have ideas for future mobile apps and look forward to working with more events on their digital presence in the future."

The Scouts Rally SA 2015 mobile app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store now:
