The current New Zealand rally champion, David Holder, will compete in Rally of Coromandel in Subaru GC8 with MRF Tyres as their preferred tyre supplier. With the availability of two different patterns (ZDM2 and ZG2) and two compounds in each pattern, it enables Holder to select the right combination to attach the beautiful roads of Coromandel. “We are absolutely delighted and humbled that David Holder, the current New Zealand Rally Champion, has selected MRF tyres as his preferred tyre for Rally of Coromandel. This is the testimony to the performance of MRF tyres in New Zealand,” Vivek Ponnusamy, CEO of Mentor Tyres, said. “MRF Tyres, along with Deane Buist from Palmside NZ , (MRF dealer) is working closely with the top NZRC competitors to provide the best rally tyre for NZRC.” David Holder: “We are excited to be partnering with MRF Tyres for Coromandel Rally. The MRF brand has great success in NZ rallying in 2017, so naturally we are keen to get on board with MRF movement.” The Mahindra Goldrush Rally Coromandel sees teams leave the Mercury Bay Sports Park from 7am on Saturday, with teams taking on 125 kilometres of special stages over the Coromandel Peninsula, before returning to the finish in Whitianga’s Blacksmith Lane from 5pm.
