The New Zealand based Hyundai i20 AP4+ will not be running at the Waitomo Rally, the next round of the New Zealand national championship.
Job Quantock was scheduled to drive in the event, however, there is some consolation.
“Job, who was scheduled to drive this event, will have his rally transferred to next year,” the Paddon Rallysport Facebook page said.
Hayden Paddon recently drove the car on the famous Ashley Forest Rallysprint as an improved Hyundai AP4++ car with over 600 horsepower and extra aerodynamics.
Whilst being on track to break the event record, the car blew an engine.
The decision has been made to allow more time for car development and to rebuild as they move forward onto the 2018 New Zealand Rally Championship.
Before then, Paddon will be strapped back into the car at Rally New Zealand, the weekend after the final round of the World Rally Championship, Rally Australia.
