NZRC exceeding expectations for Alcorn

West Australian Glenn Alcorn took a chance at the beginning of 2023, shipping his beloved Ford Escort to New Zealand, and it’s paying off in spades.
Alongside co-driver Johnathan Charlesson, the Ford Escort RS2000 duo is midway through a New Zealand Rally Championship campaign and they're enjoying every minute thus far.
Competing at the two longest NZRC events of the year (Otago and Whangarei), brought success, and the aim is for that success to continue at next month’s South Canterbury Rally.
“It’s going better than expected,” Alcorn told RallySport Magazine. “We didn’t really go over there to chase a championship as such. We intended to do the championship but primarily we were going over there for a bit of fun and to try something different, and it’s been working out so far for us.
