The entry for Mads Ostberg on the forthcoming Tour de Corse (WRC round 4, April 7-9) has been cancelled, due to delivery problems for the team.

Although the officially approved entry list stated that Ostberg would drive a Fiesta RS WRC - the old pre-2017 version car – the intention was to run the 2017 car again.

The team stated today: “It became clear a few days ago that we were not guaranteed to get the proper tarmac suspension for our car for Corsica, and furthermore no time to test on tarmac.”

Mads finished the 2015 Tour de Corse in sixth place with Citroen, but had a troubled drive with M-Sport last year and only finished ninth.

Mads said: “I am looking forward to Argentina (last weekend in April) as my next rally, and have planned a test on gravel in Europe and possibly a day’s test on Argentinian roads before the event starts.”

Ostberg has only rallied the new car once, in Sweden, where he was forced to miss a stage because of severe aero-related handling probems.

No definite news has been stated on which rally Ostberg’s teammate, Martin Prokop, will have his first drive in the OneBet Jipocar team.
