“Dry and dusty” is the prognosis for the upcoming Coates Hire Rally of Queensland. With little or no rain in the region for months, the roads are expected to be very dry and dusty, ensuring that tyre choice will be critical for a good result.

Will Orders in the Motorsport Parts - Administr8 Subaru WRX will start from position 6, with the news that Jack Monkhouse (MITSUBISHI) will not be competing due to an industrial accident.

With Evans, Bates, Pedder, Windus and Herridge in front, Orders, considered by some to be the “dark horse” of the event, should be able to take advantage of his starting position and pace himself against the front runners. Orders will also be the lead competitor running on pump fuel in the BP Ultimate Challenge.

“As long as there is a bit of breeze we will be OK,“ said Orders today.  "Down in the valleys it can get a bit breathless and the dust can hang, making it hard to drive flat out. Anyway it will be the same for all of us so we will make the best of the conditions.”

Since the last event the Motorsport Parts/ Administr8 Subaru WRX has undergone a full rebuild and coming 5th just behind Evans and Bates and Pedder in the Subaru Capital Rally, Orders and navigator Toni Feaver must be considered a chance for a top 5 result.  With less than 1 second per kilometre separating the top 5 runners, there will be no place for mistakes and this year's Coates Hire Rally of Qld could be the tightest on record.

“With practice banned for ARC competitors at the event, getting the setup right will be crucial for a great result. We are confident we have done our homework,” Orders said.
