After running as high as second outright at Coates Rally of Queensland in leg 1, Will Orders and Toni Feaver proved that they can challenge for an outright position in their Subaru WRX.
Running on BP Ultimate 98 RON fuel as part of this year’s BP Ultimate Rally Challenge which runs in conjunction with the ARC, Orders and Feaver surprised many competitors who assumed that to run at the front your car needs exotic race fuels.
“Our Subaru ran well on the new BP fuel in Queensland," Orders said. "The cost saving for our team is enormous and it's one way to help contain costs at ARC level," he said. "With good engine tune performance, despite our car catching on fire and damaging the engine in the process, we fronted in leg 2 after an all nighter by the service crew and we posted some great stage times on Sunday,” Orders said .
Orders, a leading challenger for the BP Ultimate Challenge, hopes to challenge leading privateers Darren Windus and Jack Monkhouse in the Privateers' Cup as well.
“We really had a tough run in Rally of Queensland and we are really looking forward to getting the car mobile on those fast and flowing roads in Tassie,” Orders said.
