Despite all efforts to run the Classic Outback Trial in its scheduled August timeslot, organisers have been forced to postpone the popular event.
Classic Outback Trial Director, Philip Bernadou, received feedback from many event stakeholders and was convinced that the later date of November 1-7 2020, would better suit the event.
“The foreseen further lifting of some mandated community restrictions by the re-scheduled November date will allow competitors, service crews and officials to enjoy the camaraderie and social atmosphere that has become an essential component of the Classic Outback Trial," Bernadou commented.
"This atmosphere would not have existed in August given the anticipated COVID-19 restrictions.
“Additionally, a wetter than average winter is forecast for the region so the move to November may avoid cancellation of forestry special stages."
