Organisers of the Otago Rally have released an “Intention To Enter” form that will allow competitors to lodge their interest in the rally, prior to the official Supplementary Regulations being released in the coming weeks.

The field limit for the May 16 and 17 event is 105 cars, and with the rally increasing in popularity every year, it is expected that entries will fill quickly.

The 2009 Otago Rally will include round two of the Vantage Aluminium New Zealand Rally Championship, the Dunlop International Classic Rally of Otago, and the Allcomers Rally, which will allow any vehicle to be part of the field.

Next year’s rally will entail 14 special stages covering a total competitive distance of 270km, including favourite stages such as Waipori Gorge, Kuri Bush and Whare Flat.

As well as two days of flat-out competition, a high-profile pre-event Motor Show will be held on the Friday night, enabling competitors to display their cars in front of a large crowd of spectators and rally fans.

The event website will list those competitors who have confirmed their intention to enter.

Assistance packages will also be made available for overseas competitors.
