Hayden Paddon got caught out on the fourth stage of Wales Rally GB, sliding off the road and becoming stuck.
On his first drive in M-Sport's Ford Fiesta R5 MkII, the New Zealander was well up on the stage split times against his WRC2 rivals, but his luck ran out.
"Unfortunately got caught out when the rear of the car snapped sideways in some mud, which spun the car 360 in the road and ended up here.....completely stuck," Paddon said.
"Not all bad, starting to get to grips with the new M-Sport Fiesta which has a lot of potential and we will continue to build on tomorrow."
Paddon will restart again on Saturday as he gathers more seat time in the car, ahead of his World Rally Car return at Rally Australia next month.
