ARC front-runner Mark Pedder has spoken to RallySport Magazine about his disappointment at having his victory at Rally Australia taken away from him after a crew timing error.

“There was a little relief (at winning) and incredible disappointment on so many levels,” Pedder said.

“Obviously personal disappointment at not getting my first ARC win, but more for my team who had put in an incredible amount of time and effort to get the car right.

“Probably the most disappointing aspect was the reaction from some people I have known for a long time.  To think that we would purposely affect the result of a sport I have been involved with my whole life certainly put a sour taste in my mouth.

“Funnily, the Evans Motorsport Team, who were the most affected, were also the most supportive, and for that I’ll always be grateful.”

The full interview with Mark Pedder will appear in the February 2017 issue of RallySport Magazine, available later this week.
